Greenheart Global Leaders Conference

Learn to become advocates for cultural exchange, community development, and create an action plan for your future in global leadership.

    Conference Highlights

    Network and collaborate with your international peers from across Greenheart’s cultural exchange programs. This is your opportunity to challenge your beliefs and think critically about global issues alongside other attendees from Greenheart Travel and Greenheart Exchange. During the conference you will:

    • Develop leadership skills through site visits and workshops with distinguished governmental, social, and cultural leaders. Past site visits include Amnesty International, the U.S Green Building Council, and the World Bank.
    • Experience Washington D.C. through guided tours of monuments and memorials, local entertainment, and a service-learning project.
    • Gain tools to translate your international experience into a mission-driven life and career.
    • Learn how to develop a community-focused service project.


    Requirements

    • Current Greenheart participant or alumni of a Greenheart program
    • 18+ years old
    • 8+ volunteer hours logged in the Greenheart Club
    • A strong commitment to making the world a better place and and interest in global leadership


    What’s included

    Greenheart International will award 40 scholarships to the most qualified alumni and participants to attend the Greenheart Global Leader Conference. These scholarships include:

    • International travel to/from Washington D.C. up to $1,000
    • Domestic travel to/from Washington D.C. up to $500
    • Accommodation during the conference
    • Breakfast
    • Dinner
    • All conference activities


    Not included in the scholarship

    • Lunches
    • Snacks
    • Personal purchases (souvenirs, personal hygiene supplies, extra meals, etc.)
    • Visa interview, if applicable.
    • Any expenses outside of conference dates


    Application Deadlines

    If you are currently living outside of the United States and will require international travel plans, the deadline to apply is April 17, 2024

    If you are currently living outside of the United States and will be travelling domestically, the deadline to apply is May 15, 2024.

    • Current Greenheart participant or alumni of a Greenheart program
    • 18+ years old

    • Greenhearts are eligible to participate in two Greenheart Global Leaders Conference experiences. Second-time Conference attendees are invited to apply, but please note that priority will be given to first-time attendees.
    • A strong commitment to making the world a better place and and interest in global leadership
