Embark on a whole new exchange experience by spending a week in America’s capital, Washington D.C., with Greenheart participants and alumni from around the world! Learn to become advocates for cultural exchange, community development, and create an action plan for your future in global leadership.

Conference Highlights

Network and collaborate with your international peers from across Greenheart’s cultural exchange programs. This is your opportunity to challenge your beliefs and think critically about global issues alongside other attendees from Greenheart Travel and Greenheart Exchange. During the conference you will:

• Develop leadership skills through site visits and workshops with distinguished governmental, social, and cultural leaders. Past site visits include Amnesty International, the U.S Green Building Council, and the World Bank.
• Experience Washington D.C. through guided tours of monuments and memorials, local entertainment, and a service-learning project.
• Gain tools to translate your international experience into a mission-driven life and career.
• Learn how to develop a community-focused service project.

What’s included

Greenheart International will award 40 scholarships to the most qualified alumni and participants to attend the Greenheart Global Leader Conference. These scholarships include:

• International travel to/from Washington D.C. up to $1,750 (reimbursed after conference)
• Domestic travel to/from Washington D.C. up to $500 (reimbursed after conference)
• Accommodation during the conference (dorm-like style)
• Breakfast
• Dinner
• All conference activities

Not included in the scholarship

• Lunches
• Snacks
• Personal purchases (souvenirs, personal hygiene supplies, extra meals, etc.)
• Visa interview to travel, if applicable.
• Travel to/from airports to accommodations
• Any expenses outside of conference dates
